It's definitely difficult to diet when you work in an office. It's not just the occasional potlucks and random days when a co-worker brings muffins or donuts, but when 12:00 rolls around, you are surrounded by the fast food, pizza, or homemade pasta that your neighbors brought for lunch. Then around 3:00, even if you weren't thinking about food, you suddenly have an intense craving for candy because everyone around you is eating some! It's not easy. But I just remind myself how I would feel if I ate those things. Not only mentally down on myself, but physically weighed down by the unhealthy food. It's just not worth it.
I went to the gym right after work again. 35 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the elliptical, and ab exercises. It felt good. I already feel like it's just part of my routine, and honestly, what would I be doing instead? Sitting on the couch watching TV? This feels so much more productive. I'm super excited because the classes at the gym are free! I got a schedule and they have a lot! I'm probably going to give myself a week or so to feel like I'm a little more "in shape," but I'm really excited to try some of them!
So tomorrow is the "official" beginning of my week, since I always weighed on Thursdays. I'm going to weigh myself in the morning. I'm not really looking forward to it because I'm sure it won't be good. But at the same time, I'm excited to see the number and move forward from there. Just to lay it out, my plan is:
*Follow the Detox Diet - but possibly add in some healthy "splurges" if I feel the need (chicken, turkey, etc.)
*Cardio and Abs 5 days a week
*Weight lifting every other day (except for my off days)
I'm going to try the 5 days a week thing and see how it goes. I'm used to doing six, but I think I may have been sabotaging my efforts because I was working too hard. So we'll see. Anyway, I'm going to wrap this up.
Breakfast: Carrot juice. Lunch: Avocado salad and a sweet potato. Dinner: Salad, Cod filet, cooked carrots, and cooked spinach. Snacks: A few squares of dark chocolate
