When the alarm went off at 5am, I seriously debated whether I was going to get up and run. But I did! It was COLD. Within the first minute my fingers were numb (and I was wearing gloves). But within 10 minutes I warmed up and felt good. I wouldn't say it was easy, but compared to last week, it was. I think last week I underestimated how much the lack of sleep and alcohol affected me. I felt ok, so I figured it didn't really play a big part in my lack of energy. But this week, I felt SO much better, and I'm sure it's because I took care of myself last night.
I didn't walk at all! I was so proud of myself. I ran the entire 8 miles! And I felt awesome. It makes me feel so much better because last week I was really worried that I might not be able to do this. But this week, I know that I can. I could have run 10 today if I had to. So I know I'll be able to work up to 12 over the next few weeks and run the whole route the day of the race! I feel so relieved!
Anyway not too much else to say. I think I might give myself a little "splurge" and reward today and get some sushi with brown rice for lunch. More carbs than I have been eating, but I figure it's still a pretty healthy splurge.
I will probably post again on Monday! I have the rest of the weekend to relax! :)
