Today was not bad. I worked the lunch shift, which was pretty busy. I put in my two weeks at work yesterday, which was bitter sweet. There are definitely things I don't like about that place, but I also feel kind of attached to it. After all, I helped open it. And the staff that's there (although some have come and gone, it's pretty much all people who have been there since the beginning) have become pretty close. It also made me realize how much everyone seems to like me, including the GM, who is funny and pretty awesome, but sometimes hard to read on what he really thinks of you. So it has been nice, but at the same time, makes me kind of sad to leave. I hope I'm not making a mistake....
I should have gone running today, but I just couldn't make myself because I had so many other things to do. After work I went to the Santa Monica Promenade (an outdoor mall) to look for a Valentine's Dress. No luck...boo. I guess I'll just wear something I already have. I did, however, spend too much money on other random things. Two cute casual dresses, a tank top, a sweater cover-up type thing, and a cute flower ring. All for a bargain, unfortunately it's still money I really can't afford to spend...but what can I say? I think I've become a shopping addict!
After my shopping "spree," I came home and got to work. Grant is coming in the morning, so I had a lot to do. Laundry, vacuumed my room, cleaned the bathrooms, changed my sheets. It was a pretty exciting Friday night, let me tell you! So while I didn't work out, I at least feel like I had a pretty active day. Running around all day at work, walked around the promenade, walked with my roommate a mile roundtrip to CVS, and housework. So not bad, I suppose. Plus, I did do my weights and abs. I bought a resistance band yesterday so I could do a new fitness routine I found in Shape magazine. It's a full-body workout that is supposed to get you bikini-ready! So we'll see how it goes!
Breakfast: Carrot juice. Lunch: Salad with avocado and grilled eggplant, zucchini, and raddichio. Dinner: Salad, grilled zucchini and yellow squash, goat cheese. Snacks: Dark chocolate, a few milk chocolates with caramel (splurge after work...I was really craving something sweet and my meals were pretty low-calorie today, so I figured it was ok!)
Grant gets in tomorrow and then we're going to Yosemite on Monday, so I don't know if I'll be posting regularly for the next couple of days. Either way, I'll try to make healthy choices as much as possible. And as long as I don't die, I should burn lots of calories attempting to ski in Yosemite!
Good night!
Why did you put in your 2 weeks? Are you starting a different job? Are you moving? Fill me in!! lol
ReplyDeletelol. I'm moving back home at the end of the month. Then possibly to Chicago or New York in six months....
ReplyDeleteOMG you're going skiing?? wow! Be safe! :) I've heard that burns a TON of calories. hehe.
ReplyDeleteI also read recently that walking around shopping actually burns a pretty good amount...like 100 calories per half hour. Pretty decent!
Yay, Emily! I'm glad you're moving back home and recouping to head to Chicago or New York - I definitely think you'll be happier. Let's face it - the West coast is just weird. lol
