Sorry about not posting last night. I had a splitting headache all night at work and so when I finally got home at midnight, I just wanted to eat something and pass out.
I did better yesterday. I started off a little rocky, but pulled it together. I went running in the afternoon. I went 3.2 miles and ran the whole thing (except for 2 minutes of walking in the middle). Then did weights and abs. I think that I have a very warped outlook on cardio....the people at my old gym used to call me cardio queen and the trainers there were always telling me I did too much. I feel like 3.2 miles of mostly running isn't enough...it took me about 32 minutes total (with 1 and a half minutes walking as a warm up and 2 minutes of walking in the middle). I just feel like I need to be doing more like 45 minutes or more, but I don't know. It seems like I usually end up doing too much for my body and making it store fat or gain, so I'm trying to figure it out. Do any of you have any insight into this?
Breakfast: I had some leftover rolls, so I had a couple of those toasted with butter. Fail! Lunch: Avocado salad and sweet potato. Dinner: Salad, Grilled zucchini and mushrooms with tomato sauce and goat cheese.
I told myself that if I just stay on course with my diet and exercise for the next week and a half, I can buy myself a dress to wear out on Valentine's Day. I really shouldn't spend the money, but I figure that might be an incentive to keep on track. I know I'll splurge a little over Valentine's Day weekend since Grant is coming to visit, so all I have to do is stay strong till then to get me over this little phase of weakness!
Grant is flying in on Saturday and then he and I are going to Yosemite for Valentine's Day. The trip is his present to me, so I made reservations at a nice restaurant in Yosemite for his gift. It's not super fancy or anything, but looks really nice and has views of the waterfalls. I want to find a cute, but simple dress to wear, and maybe dress it up with some jewelry. I'm thinking something like:
or maybe this:
Anyway...just some motivation for myself! I'll post later tonight.
I keep forgetting Grant will be in town! That was such a good idea to make reservations for dinner.
ReplyDeleteLove both the dresses! For some reason, I am leaning more towards the first one though. :)
Have fun!
I agree! I hope I can find something similar!
