Bikini Challenge

Surprisingly, I got myself in gear today. Went grocery shopping, went to the gym, and got a lot of random things done. Unfortunately laundry didn't happen...but hopefully tomorrow!

I went to the kickboxing class this afternoon. Although it wasn't quite as boxing-focused as I'd hoped, it was a REALLY tough workout. We did not stop moving. It was ridiculous and I wanted to die. lol. Towards the end she had us do "intervals." I thought intervals meant there were periods of rest or at least light activity. She had us going between two minutes of jump roping (which is the toughest thing for me to do for any period of time over 10 seconds!) and then our "rest" interval was punching while doing jumping jacks! DEATH! lol. I was so exhausted. But I definitely felt like I got a lot of good cardio in, plus it really was a full body work out with the punching, kicking, squats, etc. And we used weights for part of it and did abs at the end, so I felt pretty accomplished by the end of it.

The workout also kicked my mind into gear, I think. I wasn't really planning to start on the diet again until tomorrow, but the workout motivated me. So I ate pretty healthy today. After the class, I was craving some kind of really refreshing drink. I didn't want anything that would be high in calories, so I ended up making a fresh cucumber juice with fresh lime juice, mint leaves, and half a packet of Stevia. Kind of like a healthy mojito. Delicious!

Refreshing, delicious, and (basically) zero calories. A perfect summer drink!
Anyway, I'm really trying to focus on staying motivated so I can look good in a bikini this year. I am not going to spend another summer feeling self conscious and cringing any time someone mentions going to a pool because I feel fat. It's not going to happen!! I figure I have about two months till Summer activities really get started. So that should be enough time to get close to where I was....assuming my body cooperates with me!
