Finished Strong

It was another good day. It's the end of my week (as far as diet/exercise goes), and while I've had a lot of ups and downs in the last week, I am proud to say that I fulfilled all of my exercise for the week. I didn't really realize that until I checked off my last day on my dry-erase board. Sweet! I'll be weighing myself tomorrow. A little nervous about it due to the weak moments I've had over the last week. But at the same time, I'm ready to see where I am since I haven't weighed in two weeks. Even if it's not a great number, I feel like I'm back into a good mindset, and I'm just ready to see what it is so I can move forward!

I worked out this morning. So much for the soreness in my legs being gone. I seriously thought they were going to fall off! I think it's my body's delayed reaction from the pole dancing class. Ugh! They were so tight and stiff. I started to run and then seriously considered turning around and going home. But I couldn't do that. So I thought about walking my whole route, but I didn't really have time to do that since I had to get to work before too long. So I kept running. I walked a little more than I have been, but for the most part, I ran. My legs honestly felt like they were going to break. lol. It was bad. I'm hoping they'll feel better tomorrow!

Breakfast: Carrot juice. Lunch: Avocado salad and sweet potato. Dinner: Vegetable burrito (with spinach, tomatoes, onions, guacamole, brown rice, and beans) and some chips and salsa. Snacks: Carrots and guacamole, dark chocolate.

I went out for dinner, which is why I didn't exactly stick to plan. But I think I did pretty well. And I feel like when I'm sticking to the detox plan completely, I'm not eating enough with the exercise that I'm doing. So I feel like it's ok to go off a little once in a while, especially if I'm still choosing healthy foods.

Tomorrow - beach day with my friend Andrea! Then to work (ugh!).

Good night!

  1. Eeesh. I don't know. If you're in that much pain, maybe your body is trying to tell you something? I'm not tying to discourage you from working out, but just make sure you're being wise about it! :)
Usually if it's just normal soreness, it seems like working out usually HELPS it, because it loosens up those muscles. That's the only reason I'm saying this.

I just wouldn't want you to accidetly be doing any serious (or permenant) damage to your body. Steve has a lot of chronic problems with his legs due to playing sports and all that Army-ness in the past.
Have you done any reading on this? I would think there would be web sites that specifically tell you what's "normal" pain during exercise and what's not.

And, I'm sure you're already doing this, but just remember to stretch really well after running!

    Hope the pain stops!!

  2. p.s. Sounds like you're doing great on the eating thing, and I totally envy the way you can work out as hardcore as you do! You're running like 3 miles a day, aren't you?? I can barely keep a jog going for 3 minutes straight. LOL.

  3. I'm pretty positive the new soreness is just from the pole dancing thing, since it worked muscles I don't usually use. It just feels like normal sore muscles, so I'm not worried about it. Just really bad sore muscles.

I run 3.2 miles, but usually stop to walk for a minute 2 or 3 times. It's all about starting with running small distances and working your way up to longer ones!
