It was a good day. I got up and went running this morning. Then my roommate and I drove up the coast about 4 hours. We didn't plan to go that far, but it was a really nice day and the scenery was awesome. We watched the sunset over the beach, which was beautiful. All in all a good day. Here are some pictures from the coast:
My diet was good except that I went way too long without eating much of anything. I ate breakfast before we left, but on the trip I just wasn't feeling that hungry, so I had a snack midway through and that was about it. I packed a lunch, but by the time I actually thought about eating it, we were planning to stop for dinner soon, so I didn't. Then it turned out the place he wanted to stop was further than we thought, so we didn't end up eating for another couple of hours. So my metabolism probably isn't very happy with me. By the time I got home (at 10:30), I'd only eaten 400 calories. Not good! I'm not sure if it was better to be way under my calorie limit or to go so long without eating much of anything and then to eat a bunch of food.... I decided it was probably better to eat so that I didn't completely convince my body I was starving it! Hopefully it won't have a negative effect. Actually...now that I think about it, although I didn't eat nearly enough during the day, what I did eat wasn't spaced out too badly....4 hours between breakfast and my snack and 5 hours between my snack and dinner and then ate the rest of my calories about an hour and a half later. So could have been worse, I guess.
Breakfast: Shake and an orange. "Lunch" (at 8:30): a salad. I was proud of myself - we went to an Irish pub & restaurant. He got really delicious looking fish and chips! I got a salad with lettuce, peppers, onions, and carrots - minus the croutons and the dressing. I asked for some plain balsamic vinegar, but they brought me balsamic vinaigrette, which probably had oil in it. So instead I just squeezed some lemon on it. Dinner: Sweet potato and green beans. Snacks: Carrots, fruit, peanut butter.
It was a fun, but long day, so I'm off to bed! Good night.
